RE: i do exist - a documentary concerning change of sexual identity

FEATURES: · Aspects of the change stories of 5 former homosexuals (3 women and 2 men) are told. · An interview is shown with Dr. Robert Spitzer, the psychiatrist who was instrumental in removing homosexuality from the DSM. Dr. Spitzer summarizes his recent study showing that some individuals changed from gay to straight. · Dr. Mark Yarhouse of Regent University explains the process of identity formation so crucial to a full understanding of homosexuality. · One of the formerly gay participants, Noe Gutierrez, was in the video, It’s Elementary. He appeared as a gay man in that film and he talks about that experience from the perspective of now being straight. · Another of the participants, Greg Quinlan, was a volunteer for the Human Rights Campaign and now leads Ohio’s Pro Family Network. · The film makes clear how one may develop same sex attractions without appealing to primarily genetic theories · Recommendations are made concerning the role of church and schools to provide help to those who are experiencing same sex attractions but do not want to take on a gay identity.
The documentary format is fast paced and appeal to adults and teens.
